Bio-Diversity Survey In Odisha’s Chilika Lake Begins – ODISHA BYTES

Bhubaneswar: After the migratory chicken census, the annual survey on the bio-diversity of eco-system in Chilika lake started on Friday.
The Chief Executive of Chilika Development Authority (CDA) Sushant Kumar Nanda informed the media that round 100 scientists and researchers shall be engaged within the fourth annual survey. They have been divided into 16 teams with every group comprising 5-6 members.
He mentioned the surveyors will transfer round in 18 boats to take inventory of the natural world the lagoon. They will make a depend of various species of grass, crops, aquatic animals, unique birds and dolphins and their progress sample with the assistance of binoculars and GPS.
Stating that boat homeowners and members of PFCSs have been informed to not take the boats into the lake from 6 am to 12 midday, Nanda has requested the guests to not go to the lake throughout the survey.
A report variety of 12,04,351 migratory birds of 111 species had been noticed within the lake  throughout the annual census earlier this month.
