Bus Fares Hiked Across All Categories In Odisha: Check Details

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha authorities elevated the fares of bus throughout all classes within the wake of a rise within the gas costs.
As per the data shared by the State Transport Authority (STA), the fares of Ordinary and Express buses have been elevated by 1 paisa/KM whereas fare of Deluxe and AC Deluxe buses elevated by 2 paisa/KM on account of enhance in diesel value.
However, there might be no hike within the fare of metropolis buses taking part in within the State, the STA stated in an official notification. The revised fares of different stage carriages will come into efficient from at the moment (January 20).
“Due to increase in per litre diesel price from Rs 80.42 as on 07.12.2020 to Rs 82.11 as on 20.01.2021, leading to price increased by an amount equal to Rs 1.69 in direct and Rs 3 in cumulative (including the carryover), the fare for stage carriages other than town buses plying within the State of Odisha shall be fixed at increased rate,” the STA stated.
As per the revised fares, the fare of Ordinary buses has been elevated to 74 paise/KM from present 73 paise/KM whereas the Express buses will cost 77 paise per KM now as an alternative of 76 paise.
Similarly, the commuters will now should pay 109 paise per KM for travelling within the Deluxe buses as an alternative of 107 paise. The fare for AC Deluxe buses has been enhanced to 131 paise per KM from 129 paise.
