CCTV On NH-16 To Track Speeding Vehicles, Fake Number Plates In Odisha – ODISHA BYTES

Bhubaneswar: Taking word of the rise in street accidents and plying of automobiles with faux quantity plates, the Odisha authorities has determined to put in CCTV cameras on National Highway (NH) 16.
The CCTV cameras shall be put in between Rameswar in Khurda district and Panikoil in Jajpur district, Transport Commissioner Sanjeeb Panda knowledgeable the media on Monday.
They shall be put in after each 4-5 km alongside NH-16, he added.
“We will identity the vehicles moving at a high speed beyond the speed limit issued by the Transport Department. As we have the information about the plying of transport vehicles with fake registration numbers, we will identify these vehicles with the help of the CCTV cameras and take appropriate action,” Panda identified.
Panda additional knowledgeable that the estimated price of putting in the CCTV cameras shall be round Rs 15 crore and the Commerce and Transport Department will finalize a young very quickly.
He additionally mentioned the Transport Department has made it necessary for the set up of GPS system in all public transport automobiles to trace their areas in addition to to make sure the protection of passengers.
