Centre rushes Wildlife Crime Control Bureau workforce to Odisha as poachers kill forester in Simlipal National Park

BHUBANESWAR: With poachers killing a forest division official in Odisha’s Similipal National Park in Mayurbhanj district, the Centre has rushed a workforce of Wildlife Crime Control Bureau to help the state equipment, official sources mentioned.

Poachers gunned down a forester recognized as Mathi Hansad (40) whereas he was patrolling together with 5 different employees close to Gamchacharan beneath the Upper Barhakamuda vary of Similipal South.

Union Environment, Forest and Climate Change Minister Bhupender Yadav mentioned one individual has been held in reference to the incident.

“The accused have been identified and one of them has been taken into custody. A country-made gun has also been seized,” the minister mentioned in a tweet on Saturday.
