A conflict broke out between supporters of outstanding filmmaker Tutu Nayak and his detractors throughout a press convention in Bhubaneswar.
Bhubaneswar: Tensions escalated at Utkal Cinema Hall throughout a press convention, when a conflict broke out between supporters of outstanding filmmaker Tutu Nayak and his detractors. The press convention was known as in response to a number of allegations made towards Nayak by numerous opposing factions.
The incident unfolded as Nayak and his supporters gathered on the cinema corridor to deal with the accusations leveled towards him. A gaggle of people allegedly affiliated with the opposition confronted Nayak and his followers in the course of the press convention. Heated exchanges led to a bodily altercation, inflicting chaos and disruption between the filmmakers.
Nayak denied all of the allegations and maintained that they have been baseless and politically motivated.
On being knowledgeable, police reached the spot and tried to revive order and keep peace. The state of affairs was introduced underneath management after police reached the spot.
The police have initiated an investigation into the matter to determine the people chargeable for instigating the violence and to determine the veracity of the allegations made towards Nayak.
