Dhamnagar bypoll: BJD lodges grievance in opposition to Union Minister Tudu for violating MCC

BHUBANESWAR/NEW DELHI: The BJD on Sunday lodged a grievance with the Election Commission alleging that Union Minister Bisheswar Tudu violated the mannequin code of conduct whereas campaigning for the BJP candidate within the Dhamnagar meeting bypoll and demanded exemplary motion in opposition to him.
The bypoll is scheduled to be held on November 3.
A Biju Janata Dal (BJD) delegation every submitted a memorandum to the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) of Odisha and the Election Commission workplace within the nationwide capital accusing Tudu, the Union Minister of State for Jal Shakti, of violating the mannequin code of conduct (MCC).
The BJD delegations additionally submitted a video clip to the ballot panel places of work, alleging that Tudu had given assurance to the individuals of Dhamnagar that his ministry would undertake works to guard Dhamnagar from flood fury.

The BJD mentioned the MCC prohibits any type of promise and assurance about enterprise authorities works by a public consultant whereas the ballot code is in pressure.

“The union minister has violated the MCC. He has promised that he would hold discussion with them and send a Central Water Commission team to Dhamnagar,” BJD chief and former MP Pradeep Majhi informed reporters.
“If action is not taken against Tudu, it will set a very bad precedence for the voters of Dhamnagar and for democracy,” the BJD memorandum mentioned.
Tudu was not instantly accessible for remark.
The Dhamnagar meeting constituency has been witnessing high-voltage campaigning by leaders of the BJD, Congress, BJP and Independent candidates.
