Farmers Protest Turns Violent In Delhi: Odisha BJP, NKS Condemn Violence

Bhubaneswar: Several political events and outfits have strongly condemned the large-scale violence which was witnessed throughout farmers’ protest in Delhi on the event of Republic Day immediately. Hundreds of protesting farmers swarmed the historic Red Fort after their ‘Kisan Gantantra Parade’ turned violent.

It is pertinent to say right here that Delhi Police had earlier granted permission to the tractor rally by the farmers after they assured to conduct the occasion ‘peacefully.’
However, a number of teams deviated from the route recognized by police and entered the long-lasting Red Fort and ITO within the coronary heart of nationwide capital.
The farmers had deliberate the tractor rally as a part of their ongoing protests in opposition to the Central agricultural legal guidelines. Several teams of farmers allegedly indulged in vandalism of public property and focused police personnel deployed for Republic Day safety.
Nabanirman Krushak Sangathan (NKS), the main farmers’ outfit in Odisha condemned violence throughout farmers’ tractor rally in Delhi.
“Some people who don’t belong to united farmers’ front resorted to such cheap act which is condemnable. The government should take action against them,” stated NNKS National Convenor, Akshay Kumar.
Golak Mohapatra, BJP chief from Odisha additionally condemned the large-scale violence through the tractor rally in Delhi.
“Some anti-socials with vested interests misused the government’s permission for a peaceful protest. Instead of agitation, farmer leaders should set up committee and hold talks with the government as per the Supreme Court order,” stated Mohapatra.
