Government conspiring towards Mayurbhanj’s improvement: Bishweswar Tudu

BHUBANESWAR:  Union Minister of State for Tribal Affairs and Jal Shakti Bishweswar Tudu on Monday accused the state authorities of conspiring to stall all improvement initiatives in Mayurbhanj district which can be supported and financed by the Centre together with the revival of Amarda airstrip below UDAN scheme. 

Tudu informed a media convention right here that after preliminary reluctance to pay `26 crore compensation for the acquisition of land from the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), the state authorities paid the quantity with sure situations after three months of receiving the no-objection certificates from the Defence Ministry.

He stated the DRDO authority was supposed handy over 160.35 acre of defence land to the state authorities on October 10, 2023 however the Mayurbhanj district collector who was to take over the possession of the land gave the programme a miss. “When I asked the district collector why he did not turn up, he said he was under instruction from the government not to attend the programme,” he added.
