BHUBANESWAR: The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has raised critical issues concerning gradual tempo of progress in building works of the federal government medical faculty at Jajpur. The medical faculty and hospital on the industrially-rich Jajpur was sanctioned as a part of the Phase II of Pradhan Mantri Swasthya Suraksha Yojana (PMSSY). The 100-seat new MCH mission is being carried out at a price of round Rs 430 crore and was to be accomplished by 2020..

In a missive to the State authorities, the Ministry has cited although all the Central share for the school has already been launched to the State, but solely about 28 per cent (laptop) building has been accomplished. Asking the Health and Family Welfare division to submit the explanations behind the delay in building of the infrastructure, the Ministry has requested to expedite and full the mission on the earliest.

Sources stated the State authorities had taken up the mission in mid-2018.  It was determined to arrange the medical faculty after upgrading the prevailing district headquarters hospital. Accordingly, the Collector was requested to establish 20 acre of land within the shut proximity of the DHH.

The mission was then delayed as a result of native agitations over collection of website as a serious part of the district demanded the school to return up at Panikoili. However, the positioning for the mission was chosen at Ankula after the administration agreed to arrange a trauma care centre at Panikoili.

A senior Health division official stated the development of Jajpur MCH needed to wait as a result of delay in collection of website by almost two years. The implementing company L&T is setting up the principle constructing, hostel block, employees residential quarters and ancillary buildings on turn-key foundation. The mission can be prepared by the top of 2023, he stated.
