Bhanjanagar: Panic gripped the residents of Naguda-Manitara space underneath Buguda forest vary right here in Ganjam district following an alert by the forest division relating to motion of a leopard within the area.
Sources stated the locals seen the animal caught in a lure laid in a hole of a mountain on the outskirts of the village.
People knowledgeable the forest officers who rushed to the spot to rescue the animal. The officers discovered that the animal forcefully broke the lure after which escaped.
The officers have launched an operation to find the leopard. They stated that it might need sustained accidents and have to be roaming within the nearest forest.
They suspect that some miscreants might need laid the lure to poach wild boars, wherein the leopard bought trapped.
