Lt Gen CP Mohanty Stresses On Army Modernisation To Deal With Threats From Pak, China

Bhubaneswar: Vice chief of Indian Army, Lt General Chandi Prasad Mohanty on Wednesday stated India has threats from each Pakistan and China and confused for modernisation and technological development of Indian armed forces to cope with it.
“In today’s time, China and Pakistan are major challenges for Indian Army. In order to win over them at once, we have to do ensure modernisation and technological advancement of the armed forces,” Mohanty stated.
Attending a perform at Sainik School in Bhubaneswar immediately, Mohanty stated, “Battlefields are changing everywhere. So there is need for modernisation. We have to enhance capacity building, infrastructure development, better our weaponry system and also communication and intelligentsia.”
Mohanty, who turned the primary Odia officer to adorn the highest publish, stated now-a-days the Indian armed forces just like the Army, Navy and Air Force usually are not increasing by way of amount. Rather, emphasis is being given on infrastructure growth and modernisation.
“China is modernising in a big way and they are also assisting Pakistan to modernise in a big way. Therefore, Indian Army is also carrying out a lot of modernisation and capability enhancement. What is most important is that we are getting tremendous amount of support from our Prime Minister and Defence Minister,” he stated.
“After I take up my new role, this will be one of my prime responsibilities to carry forward this modernisation and capability development of Indian Army,” he added.
The Odia officer repeated his attraction to the youths of the State to hitch the Indian Army. “I would call upon one from each village in Odisha to join the armed forces. He/she would become a role model for others. That can only happen in case we encourage our children,” he said.
