Jajpur: The well-known Rath Yatra at Maa Biraja Temple in Odisha’s Jajpur started with big pomp and present and with a lot reverence and fervour from at the moment.

The Rath Yatra at Maa Biraja temple, which is also referred to as the Vijaya Rath Yatra, will proceed for the subsequent eight days.

The annual competition started following the chariot inauguration ceremony and rituals carried out as per the custom. Thereafter, the idol of goddess Biraja, the presiding deity of Jajpur, was taken atop the rath following which 1000’s of devotees pulled the chariot. This will proceed until the Nabapada Darshan ritual, which marks the top of Vijaya Rath Yatra.

The district and temple administration has made elaborate preparations to conduct the annual competition peacefully and easily.

It is to be famous that the annual Rath Yatra celebrated at Biraja temple through the Durga Puja as goddess Durga is the presiding deity of the temple and is worshipped as Maa Biraja.
