NHRC raps Odisha authorities over delay in compensation

BHUBANESWAR: The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) has rapped Odisha authorities for allegedly failing to find the victims, who have been transfused with HIV and hepatitis inflected blood at VIMSAR in Burla 4 years in the past, for paying compensation. 

Acting on a petition and subsequent submissions filed by Supreme Court lawyer and rights activist Radhakant Tripathy, the apex human rights physique has directed the Chief Secretary to expedite the method to pay the compensation and submit the proof of cost by February 25.
