Odisha Asks Centre To Allow Covid-19 Vaccination At BSKY Empanelled Pvt Hospitals
Bhubaneswar: With vaccination holding key within the struggle in opposition to coronavirus, the Odisha authorities on Friday requested the Centre to permit personal hospitals empanelled beneath the Biju Swasthya Kalyan Yojana (BSKY) as COVID-19 vaccination websites.

In a letter to Union Health Ministry Secretary Rajesh Bhusan, Additional Chief Secretary (Health) PK Mohapatra has urged the latter to grant the required permission on this regard.
It is pertinent to say right here that personal hospitals empanelled beneath the Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB-PMJAY) have been allowed as Covid-19 vaccination websites by the Centre.
However, Odisha has not adopted the AB-PMJAY which has now emerged as a hurdle in getting permission for personal hospitals within the State to start out the COVID-19 vaccination drive.

“As Odisha has not adopted the AB-PMJAY, it is requested that the 183 private hospitals empanelled under our State Health Assurance Scheme- Biju Swasthya Kalyan Yojana (BSKY) may be kindly allowed to be registered as COVID-19 vaccination session sites,” acknowledged Mohapatra within the letter.
As per plans, the aged and comorbid individuals might be administered vaccines following registration as per the rules laid down by the Centre. The vaccination centres might be ready as per the variety of beneficiaries who will register their names to participate within the drive.
While vaccination might be freed from price in authorities hospitals, the costs of vaccination in personal hospitals might be mounted by the Centre, mentioned DMET Director CBK Mohanty.
