Odisha price range: Rs 3000 crore allotted for catastrophe administration

BHUBANESWAR: Odisha authorities has allotted Rs 3,050 crore for catastrophe administration within the State in 2021-22 fiscal to strengthen its preparedness to mitigate and deal with calamities of any nature. The allocation consists of Rs 2,139 crore for the State Disaster Risk Management Fund and Rs 911 crore below National Disaster and Risk Management Fund. Finance Minister Niranjan Pujari stated Odisha has leveraged neighborhood participation in constructing an environment friendly catastrophe administration system over time.

The authorities has additionally put aside Rs 100 crore for World Bank-assisted Odisha Disaster Recovery Project, he added. The Minister stated the State additionally continues to offer thrust on ‘Climate Budget’ to incorporate local weather change element in planning and budgeting of 11 main departments. Apart from department-specific funds obtained below the Green Climate Fund Project, the National Adaptation Fund on Climate Change Project and Odisha Environment Management Fund are being utilised by the federal government to formulate tasks to take care of the local weather change, the Minister stated. The Minister stated Rs 1,854 crore has additionally been supplied for the forestry sector.
