Odisha: Cops Seize Ganja Worth Over Rs 4 Lakh After Hot Chase, Nab 2 Peddlers | OTV News

Koraput: Continuing its crackdown on unlawful ganja smuggling within the State, police seized round 134.6 kilograms of the narcotic substance close to Kanagaon village beneath Machkund space of Koraput district within the wee hours of Friday.
Police have additionally arrested two individuals recognized Chaturam of Bihar and Rajiya Paswan of Delhi in reference to the unlawful commerce. The market worth of the contraband is estimated to be round Rs 4 lakh, stated police sources.
The contraband was being transported from Andhra Pradesh through Machkund, Lamtaput and Jeypore to Bihar in a Bolero, stated experiences.
A joint workforce of Machkund and Lamtaput police have been conducting patrolling in Machkund space once they tried to intercept a four-wheeler. However, Chaturam, who was on the wheel didn’t cease the car and sped away forcing the police officers to provide it a chase.
The police workforce overtook the car close to Kanagaon Chhak. Following searches, police recovered the ganja hid contained in the seat of the car and arrested the 2 peddlers.
Meanwhile, Chaturam and Rajiya have been taken to the Lamtaput Police Station for interrogation in reference to the incident, added experiences. Further investigation into the case is underway.
