Local merchants, who’ve been evicted for the facilitation of the flyover, have demanded early execution of the challenge and enough compensation for them.
“We cooperated with the district administration in the eviction drive for smooth facilitation of the project. But, not a single trader has been compensated by the government yet. Still, we have faith in the government to get compensation for the loss we have incurred due to the eviction,” stated R Venkat, a neighborhood shopkeeper.
Even although the federal government has not but compensated 587 merchants who’ve been evicted from the challenge location, recent notification for demolition of 150 extra retailers from the challenge website has turn into a reason for concern for the shopkeepers.

The challenge work had begun at a price of Rs 54 crore and it has now risen to Rs 100 crore, sources stated.
The Panda Infra, a development unit which had been initially entrusted with the duty of the challenge work, was later disengaged from the job for sub-standard work that reportedly led to break down of facet wall of the beneath development bridge. Later, Biraja Construction Pvt Ltd took over the cost of development.
After the work was handed over to Biraja Construction, the design of the challenge was modified, which required eviction of extra retailers. However, the merchants are reluctant to vacate the land alleging that a lot of their fellow merchants are but to get the compensation.
