Odisha: Newly-wed couple makes an attempt self-immolation, spouse dies

BALASORE:  A newly-married girl died and her husband sustained crucial accidents after they set themselves on hearth over a home dispute in Jaleswar city of Balasore district on Monday evening. 

The deceased was recognized as Liza Majhi. Her husband, Ratikanta Majhi of Guagadia village inside Jaleswar police limits, is present process remedy at SCB Medical College and Hospital and his situation is acknowledged to be crucial. 

The couple had married three months again. Sources mentioned Ratikanta had gone to his in-law’s home three days again and returned dwelling together with his spouse on Monday night. At round 8 pm, the couple locked their bed room from inside and began quarrelling over some dispute. 

On listening to the commotion, Ratikanta’s father Sambhu requested his son to open the door however to no avail. He then broke into the room and located the couple engulfed in flames. He screamed for assist following which neighbours reached the spot and rushed the critically-injured couple to FM Medical College and Hospital (MCH). After their situation worsened, they had been shifted to SCB MCH in Cuttack. However, Liza succumbed on approach.  A case has been registered in Jaleswar police station and investigation is underway.
