Odisha to assemble 52 mannequin paddy buy centres: Minister

BHUBANESWAR : The State authorities on Monday determined to assemble mannequin mandis (paddy buy centres) in 12 main paddy procurement districts of the State. Reviewing the progress of building of multi-purpose godowns for major agriculture cooperative societies (PACS) and huge space multi-purpose societies (LAMPS) at a high-level assembly right here, Cooperation Minister Ranendra Pratap Swain stated that 52 mannequin mandis might be constructed within the first part.
Major paddy procurement districts akin to Bargarh, Balangir, Kalahandi, Deogarh, Sambalpur, Sonepur, Jharsuguda, Nuapada, Koraput, Rayagada, Sundargarh and Mayurbhanj will get precedence. The proposed mannequin mandis may have all fundamental amenities for farmers.
The Minister stated that the State authorities has been establishing 128 multi-purpose godowns to satisfy the storage wants throughout procurement of paddy and different recognized agricultural produce underneath minimal help worth system. He stated the regulated market committees (RMCs) are taking good care of the price of the godowns of PACS/LAMPs which have their very own land.
