Odisha toddler beats coronavirus after spending every week on ventilator help

BHUBANESWAR: A one-year-old child boy from Odisha’s Balasore district defeated Covid-19 after remaining on ventilator help for every week. He was discharged from the hospital on Friday after utterly recovering from the illness.

Tested optimistic for the virus, the boy from Nilagiri was rushed to SUM Covid Hospital right here in a severe situation on September 21. “He was affected by excessive fever and seizures when dropped at the hospital. It was a problem for the medical workforce to deal with the child and he was shifted to a ventilator the following day,” a health care provider who handled him mentioned.

As his mother and father waited exterior the hospital with a silent prayer on their lips, the child battled the illness inside with the medical workforce making each effort to carry him round. His situation improved subsequently and he was taken off the ventilator on September 29 and was placed on oxygen help. Later, he was discharged from the hospital after he totally recovered.

“Treating children with Covid is a bit difficult as they don’t usually allow oxygen mask on the face. The boy, however, cooperated with us all through the medication and came out victorious. He is a champion,” mentioned the physician.

The child’s father Jayanta Patnaik was effusive in his reward for the hospital medical workforce and mentioned that that they had given his son a brand new life. “We were very much worried as he was having seizures. Since the doctors had assured us and put their best efforts, we had no other option but to wait outside the hospital praying the God for my son’s early recovery,” Jayanta mentioned.
