On Army Day, Odisha Artist Saswat Sahoo Pays The Perfect ‘Tank’ Tribute To India’s Bravehearts

Puri: Saluting the valour and braveness of the nation’s bravehearts, an artist from Odisha has created a mannequin of an Indian Army tank utilizing matchsticks as a mark of tribute to the troopers on the event of Army Day as we speak.
It took round six days for Saswat Ranjan Sahoo, the younger artist from the pilgrim city of Puri, to organize the miniature Indian Army tank utilizing 2254 matchsticks. The tank’s size is 9 inch whereas the breadth measures 8 inches.
 
“I made this idol to pay tribute to our real heroes who sacrificed their lives to save our lives. This year India is going to celebrate 73rd Army Day. By making this idol, I pay my respect to our soldiers of the Indian Army,” mentioned Saswat.

Army Day is widely known on the fifteenth of January yearly, in recognition of first Commander-in-Chief of the Indian Army, Field Marshal Kodandera M Cariappa, because it was on this present day in 1949 that the command of the Indian Army was taken over from General Sir Francis Butcher, the final British Commander-in-Chief of India.
