A police official has been suspended for allegedly permitting devotees to enter Srimandir by Pashchim dwar after taking bribe in Puri.

Puri: A police official has been suspended for allegedly permitting devotees to enter Srimandir by the western entrance (Pashchim dwar) after taking bribe in Odisha’s Puri district.

The accused has been recognized as Subasish Das, a member of the third Battalion of the Odisha State Armed Police (OSAP).

Reportedly the temple’s surveillance cameras captured, a devotee giving a bribe to enter the temple by the restricted space.

The suspect’s actions have been promptly seen by different officers, who intercepted the scenario and detained the person. He was instantly handed over to the Additional Superintendent of Police for additional investigation. Following the incident, the Puri police have strengthened safety.
