Bhubaneswar: After handing over two key parking heaps within the metropolis to transgenders to gather parking charges, the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) on Thursday initiated course of to revise the parking costs within the State capital which can be applied from April 1.
According to sources, the BMC has invited tender for 32 parking heaps within the city. As per the choice, there can be no parking costs for bicycles. However, bikers should pay Rs 5 for parking their two-wheelers for as much as two hours. Similarly, for auto-rickshaws, four-wheelers and heavy automobiles, the parking costs can be Rs 5, Rs 20 and Rs 25 respectively.
The parking price for 2 to a few hours can be Rs 15 for two-wheelers, whereas for three-wheelers, four-wheelers and heavy automobiles, the fees can be Rs 20, Rs 40 and Rs 50 respectively.
Furthermore, costs of Rs 25 can be levied for parking two-wheelers for 3 to 4 hours. In case of three-wheelers, four-wheelers and heavy automobiles, the parking charges have been fastened at Rs 35, Rs 60 and Rs 75 respectively.
For parking automobiles for greater than 5 hours, commuters might want to pay 20 per cent additional per hour. Electric automobiles can be given 40 per cent low cost on parking charges, the tender learn.
Earlier on Thursday, the BMC had handed over two prime parking heaps within the metropolis to a transgender organisation TG Swikruti to gather parking charges. Under this initiative 17 transgender will perform the train on an experimental foundation for 2 months.
