Road cracks throughout drain work

CUTTACK: A portion of the street stretching from Bajrakabati to Chhatra Bazar developed cracks throughout the building of a field drain which is being carried out beneath the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) funded Integrated Sanitation Improvement Project (ISIP) by Odisha Water Supply and Sewerage Board (OWSSB) on Tuesday.
The staff have been digging the primary stormwater channel-1 passing by the facet of the street for the development of a field drain when the street stretching from Keshab Chandra Sahu Women’s College to Hero Honda showroom cracked because of the bending of an iron beam that was offering assist to the drain wall. Irate locals stopped the work and drew the eye of the authorities who then rushed to the spot.
