Senior Odisha Police Officer In Trouble For Seeking Sexual Favours

Bhubaneswar: Wife of a sepoy posted on the seventh Battalion of Odisha Special Armed Police (OSAP) has leveled a severe allegation in opposition to Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP), Armed Commandant Bijay Kumar Sahoo.
Sipoy Nihar Ranjan Nayak’s spouse Sunita Lenka alleged that Bijay was in search of sexual favours from women and girls who had been going to the Family Welfare Centre for the coaching of tailoring.
Currently, Nihar is working as a Sipoy Tailor on the Family Welfare Centre of the seventh Battalion, the place the wives and daughters of Sipoys and Havildars are given coaching on varied handicrafts. However, Bijay allegedly has been asking Nihar to take handsome trainees to his bunglow.
Sunita additional claimed that Nihar is below psychological trauma for the final two months and has been admitted at hospital as he has been harassed by Bijay.
She additionally claimed that DCP Sahoo used to threaten Nihar with switch resulting from which he had tried suicide by consuming phenyl.
Meanwhile, Sunita has submitted a written criticism with Odisha DGP and requested to take motion in opposition to Sahoo.
Based on the written criticism, Bhubaneswar Police Commissioner Saumendra Priyadarshi ordered a probe into the matter saying that Additional Commissioner of Police Rekha Lohani will examine the case.
Bijay Kumar Sahoo, then again, condemned the allegation saying that the allegation is fake and baseless.
