Shocking! Odisha School Receives Electricity Bill Of Nearly Rs 6 Crore

Cuttack: The authorities of a college in Odisha’s Cuttack district obtained the shock of their lives after getting a whopping invoice of almost Rs 6 crore for energy consumption.
The inflated invoice within the title of Government Upper Primary School at Sisua in Kantapada space of Cuttack district has despatched the varsity authorities into tizzy.
Established in 1989, the varsity having lessons I to VIII was given electrical energy connection in 2016. In February final 12 months, the electrical energy division gave the varsity a stinging shock by sending a invoice of Rs 5, 92, 72,784.
Headmistress in-charge of the varsity, Kabita Rani Sahoo stated, “Our school got electricity connection in 2016. As per the meter reading, 200 units of electricity have been consumed here so far. However, on February 12, 2020, we received a bill of Rs 5, 92,72,784.”
Sahoo stated she had submitted a written criticism to the involved authorities. However, the misguided invoice continues to be to be rectified, she alleged.
“Though one year has passed since we received the erroneous bill, no step has been taken to resolve the issue so far,” she added.
However, native electrical energy authorities admitted that there was mistake within the printing of the invoice which has been rectified.
“There was a wrong billing, but later we had cancelled the bill” stated Baidik Ranjan Biswal, junior engineer at Adaspur electrical energy workplace.
