Bhubaneswar: A pair allegedly abused and brutally thrashed a buyer after the latter claimed the gold chain he purchased from their jewelry showroom was of substandard high quality. The incident occurred at Khandagiri Bari underneath Bharatpur Police limits on the outskirts of Bhubaneswar on January 7.
Based on the written grievance by the client recognized as Bibekananda Mohanty, a resident of Khandagiri Bari space, Bharatpur Police swung into motion and arrested one Asit Senapati, the proprietor of the jewelry store.
However, Senapati’s spouse, who’s but to be recognized has not been arrested, stated sources.

As per the complainant, Mohanty had bought a gold chain for Rs 9,400 4 years again. Due to some monetary concern few months again, when Mohanty went to the financial institution to mortgage the gold chain, the financial institution refused him mortgage citing inferior high quality of the jewelry.
Later, Mohanty approached Senapati complaining in regards to the substandard high quality of gold following which the latter after a minor argument, exchanged the gold chain and requested him to not reveal the matter to anybody.
It can be being alleged that Senapati had earlier cheated round 12 of his clients, who had been additionally identified to Mohanty. In order to forestall others from falling prey to Senapati, Mohanty saved sharing the incident to his neighbours.
On January 7, Senapati and his spouse attacked Mohanty, whereas he was standing close to the store, leaving critical accidents on his head.
