Three employees die of suffocation at chowmein manufacturing facility in Odisha’s Gajapati district

BHUBANESWAR: Three employees allegedly died of suffocation inside a chowmein manufacturing unit at Mohana in Gajapati district.

Other employees on the unit had knowledgeable the police when the trio didn’t open the door within the morning. Mohana police and Odisha Fire Service personnel rushed to the spot at about 8 am and broke open the unit’s door. They discovered the three employees to be unconscious and rushed them to a hospital in Mohana the place the docs declared them introduced lifeless.

Gajapati SP Jayaram Satapathy visited the spot to analyze.

“The regulator of one of the LPG cylinders was found to be open and the room was filled with gas. Initial investigation suggests the three workers died from asphyxiation,” stated an officer of Mohana police station.

The unit has 4 to 5 rooms and the incident might have taken place after 1 am. However, extra particulars will emerge after the postmortem reviews arrive.

A case of unnatural loss of life has been registered and additional investigation is constant, he added.

The deceased have been recognized as Prabahakar Dalei and Sunil Dalei of Gajapati district and Arun Sahoo of Ganjam district.
