Bhubaneswar: A journey love story, a criminal offense thriller and a case of extreme satisfaction – carrying the numerous hues of life on their palette, they ‘plot’ to make film watching an attention-grabbing affair for the cinelovers of Odisha.
Director couple Sisir Kumar Sahu and Peenakee Singh Rajput have already got a couple of feathers of their cap. The newest from their kitty, ‘Hubris’, a brief movie will likely be screened on the ongoing thirteenth Jaipur International Film Festival on January 18.
This 25-minute movie, which was shot in three days throughout the COVID-19 time, revolves round an RJ and her inflated ego. It options Amrita Mishra and Partha Sarathi Ray within the lead roles.

“This is our fifth film and third as co-directors,” stated Sisir, who had assisted director Ashutosh Gowariker in his movie ‘Mohenjo Daro’.

While the pandemic stalled the post-production of their film ‘Charitra’, it is just not too long ago that they winded up the shoot of ‘Daalcheeni’.
“Charitra, which is a crime thriller, was shot extensively in HAL colony in Koraput. We are looking forward to its theatrical release,” he stated.
It stars Partha Sarathi Ray, Ananya Mishra, Gargi Mohanty, Hara Ratha and Dipanwith Dasmohaptra.
‘Daalcheeni’, however, is a journey love story produced by Aao Next and Ritupriya Production. It was shot alongside the Marine Drive.
Sisir and Peenakee have been working laborious on the storytelling and presentation to present their movies a distinct appear and feel.
For ‘Daalcheeni’, they roped in cinematographer Yudhisthira Behera, who has assisted Assem Mishra in movies like ‘Paan Singh Tomar’, ‘Once Upon A Time In Mumbai’, ‘Band Baja Barat’, ‘Ek Tha Tiger’, ‘Gunday’ and ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’, amongst others.
Paratha Sarathi Ray and Suryamayee Mohapatra are the lead pair within the film.
Sisir and Peenakee stated that as co-directors they complement one another. “She comes with a fresh perspective, which helps in developing the idea and characters,” stated Sisir.
They even have their share of arguments and disagreements. “We try to sort it out in the pre-production stage. The constant discussions bring clarity and help us to put the right amount of emotion and all the necessary ingredients needed to turn a story idea into a perfect script,” stated Peenakee.
