ULBs requested to contain rag pickers in waste administration

BHUBANESWAR: With an elevated concentrate on strong waste administration and cleanliness throughout the first quarter, the State authorities on Tuesday requested district collectors and concrete native our bodies to make honest efforts and compete for the Chief Minister’s Cleanest City Award.

The Chief Ministers’ Cleanest City Award could be given annually on three classes – high two performers from amongst 9 cities included beneath Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation (AMRUT) programme, high three performers amongst 44 municipalities, and, high three performers amongst 61 NACs. 

Interacting with district collectors and government officers of all 114 ULBs, Chief Secretary Suresh Chandra Mohapatra stated the award is an revolutionary initiative by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik for creating wholesome competitors among the many ULBs on their march in direction of a clear and livable metropolis. 

Asking the Collectors to make the initiative a mass motion by means of intensive consciousness, behaviour change schooling and energetic involvement of the individuals, the Chief Secretary directed the ULBs to contain the members of the Mission Shakti and transgender teams in operation and administration of the micro composting centres (MCCs). 

The ULBs had been directed to establish all rag pickers and contain them within the works of MCCs, materials restoration services (MRFs) in order that they might earn their residing from it.
