Vedanta Aluminium Wins Two First Prizes Of National Energy Conservation Awards For 2020 – ODISHA BYTES

In a digital award ceremony held lately, Vedanta Ltd’s Jharsuguda (Odisha) Smelter-I bagged first prize in Aluminium (Large) Sector whereas Vedanta Ltd., Lanjigarh (Odisha) was topper in Aluminium (Small) Sector. Both items have rolled out almost 80 initiatives over the previous three years to scale up power effectivity.
In his response to the awards, Ajay Kapur, CEO of Aluminium & Power and MD of Commercial, Vedanta Ltd., mentioned, “Winning the coveted National Energy Conservation Awards has bolstered our commitment to emerge as the world’s best, lowest cost, most energy efficient and sustainable aluminium producer.”
Vedanta Aluminium & Power, part of Vedanta Limited, produced nearly half of India’s aluminium or 1.9 million tonne each year (MTPA) in 2020 monetary yr, in response to a press launch.
