    Prayagraj. Even after the death of notorious mafia Atiq Ahmed, action against his illegal and benami properties is continuing. On Friday, the police confiscated Atiq’s valuable land under the Gangster Act. Atiq wanted to build his farm house on the river bank on this land worth Rs 6 crore. This land is very close to the Yamuna river in Arail, Naini. Atiq had taken this land in someone else’s name. The police confiscated the land and got a government board installed on it and got the drum beaten.

    So far, the police has attached properties worth thousand crores of mafia Atiq Ahmed. In this sequence, on Friday, Prayagraj’s Cantt police attached another valuable land of mafia Atiq under the Gangster Act. The police put up an attachment board on this land and informed the people about the attachment through the mike.

    This land of mafia Atiq Ahmed in Naini area of ​​Prayagraj is around 1550 square yards. Its value is around 6 crores. According to the police, Atiq and Ashraf created benami properties worth eight crores in the name of Shyam Saroj, a sanitation worker of Karauli village of Nawabganj. Shyam himself told the police that he used to work as a cleaner in the house of real brothers Javed and Kamran, residents of Atrasuiya. It was alleged that both were close to Atiq Ahmed. Atiq and Ashraf, along with their acquaintance Faraz and another, forcibly got the benami properties registered in his name. He was held hostage and made to sign. After the death of Atiq and Ashraf, pressure was put on him to transfer the said properties in their name. DCP Nagar Abhishek Bharti said that on the orders of the Police Commissioner Court, both the properties have been confiscated under the Gangster Act. According to the Additional DCP, Atiq’s illegal properties were revealed in the investigation of the Cantt Police. Atiq had got it registered in the name of someone else.

    Let us tell you that under the leadership of former DCP Nagar Deepak Bhukar, the city zone police took swift action on the benami properties of notorious mafia Atiq Ahmed and mafia Ashraf. Atiq’s property worth 12.50 crores located in Gauspur Kathula of Airport police station area was also confiscated under the leadership of Deepak Bhukar. Not only this, for the first time this property was vested in the government through effective lobbying. Earlier, all the properties of Atiq were confiscated under the Gangster Act, but none of them could be vested in the government.
