Meerut What happened in the district on Friday night, he shocked the entire city. Taxi driver Mohit Sharma brutally murdered his wife Saloni Sharma (32) in a drunken state. And the most scary thing – This dreadful scene happened in front of the eyes of his two innocent girls Ishu (6) and Aaradhya (7).
The quarrel between husband and wife was not new, but this time Mohit crossed all limits. Saloni was strangled, she tried to protect himself, but could not get out of the arrest of death. After the murder, Mohit himself confessed everything by calling the number 112 and reached the police station and surrendered.
Starts with love, finishing in pain – the bloody end of the nine -year -old love story
Mohit and Saloni were married in 2016 under the Love Marriage. Saloni, a resident of Lajpatnagar, Ghaziabad, had confronts his family for Mohit. Initially there was sweetness in relationships, but soon bitterness camped in the house.
According to Mohit, Saloni doubted him, frequent quarrels, and he used to listen to her maternal uncle and taunt her. While Saloni’s family members say that Mohit used to beat Saloni after drinking alcohol.
What happened to the night of murder?
On the night of the incident, Mohit returned home drunk. Alcohol did the work of setting fire to a stress -filled relationship. The debate between the two began, which turned into violence. Anger and drunk Chur Mohit first strangled Saloni, then strangled him with a dupatta.
During this painful incident, the daughters sleeping on the ground opened with screams. Seeing his mother suffering in front of his eyes, the girls’ screams echoed, but Mohit’s heart did not sweat.
Mohit’s confession: ‘She wanted to leave me, beat up daughters’
According to SP City Ayush Vikram Singh, during interrogation, Mohit said that Saloni was forcing him to stay away from his parents. On the day she used to quarrel over small things and also assaulted the elder daughter Aradhya.
Mohit said – “I endured a lot, but that night anger got out of control. What he is drunk is regretting, but now everything is over.”
Saloni’s last warning – ‘He will kill me!’
Just a few hours before the incident, Saloni called his father Premraj Sharma at 11:30 pm. He said clearly – “Papa, Mohit is bothering me a lot. If something has happened then he has done it.”
Sadly, his warning proved to be true. The next morning the landlord Fakirchand called and told – your daughter is no longer in this world.
Landlady’s disclosure: ‘fights were common’
Vimlesh, whose house Mohit and Saloni lived on rent, said – “There was a sharp debate between the two at night. It was a daily thing. We felt that it would be the same today, but when the police arrived in the morning, everything came to know.”
Saloni’s Tahrir, which was ignored
On 15 January, Saloni gave a written complaint against Mohit at Madhavapuram outpost. In this, he spoke about assault, mental harassment and threatening to kill him. But perhaps the administration did not take this complaint seriously – and the result is in front.
Mohit was not alone – even serious allegations against family and friends
In his complaint, Premraj Sharma has also registered the names of Mohit as well as his father Brajesh Sharma, mother Bala Devi, friend Sonu, Aman, Amit, brother-in-law Arjun and sister Dolly. It is alleged that they were all involved in harassing Saloni.
Father Premraj says – “How many times our daughter has asked for help, but both society and system left her alone.”
The future of daughters is now in balance
After Saloni’s death, both her daughters, who have seen everything with their own eyes, are mentally hurt. At the moment, he has been sent to Nanihal, but the question is, will the childhood of these innocents ever become normal?
Is this not the failure of society?
When a woman openly seeks help from the police, and then she is killed – the question is with the law, society and system.
Is only the husband guilty? Or is this murder a social failure where domestic violence is postponed as a ‘house case’? If there was action on the complaint of January, Saloni might have been alive today.
Police action and next step
Mohit has been produced in court and sent to jail. The police is now collecting evidence against the accused. Saloni’s body has been post -mortem and was handed over to the family. The case is being investigated, but the question is the same – is it too late now?
Expect justice
This heartbreaking murder has made the society think once again – are women really safe? Are the laws and police enough to prevent domestic violence? Or it does not matter until life is lost?
Now is the time that the society not only regret such incidents, but raises the voice – so that the next Saloni can get justice before death.
