Lakhimpur Kheri A major corruption case has come to light in the block Kumbhi, where Assistant MNREGA Program Officer (APO MNREGA) Madhur Gupta has been arrested by the Prevention of Corruption Team taking a bribe of Rs 50,000. The incident took place on Saturday, when the team caught the accused red -handed and filed a case against him.
Action on complaint
Madhur Gupta, posted in the block Kumbhi of Gola Kotwali area, had filed a complaint by Vipin Verma, Principal Representative of Gram Panchayat Chitounia. He alleged that Madhur Gupta had demanded a bribe from him in exchange for working under the MNREGA scheme. After this complaint, the prevention of corruption team immediately started action and on Saturday afternoon, Madhur Gupta was caught taking bribe with cash of Rs 50,000.

He also informed that a case has been filed by filing Tahrir in Fardhan police station. However, the work of gathering some evidence is still going on, after which further action will be taken against the accused.
