Three Naxalites, carrying a significant collective bounty of Rs 15 lakh, have been eliminated by security forces in Sukma district, Chhattisgarh. The intense encounter occurred Sunday morning in the forests of Tumalpad village, an area under the jurisdiction of both Bhejji and Chintagufa police stations. The operation was a direct response to specific intelligence inputs regarding Maoist presence.

After a sustained exchange of fire, the bodies of the three Naxalites, including two women, were recovered by the security personnel. The neutralized individuals were identified as Madvi Deva (area committee member), Podiam Gangi (commander of the Maoist cultural wing, CNM), and Sodhi Gangi (area committee member for Kistaram). Their elimination is a testament to the effectiveness of the ongoing counter-Naxal operations.

Significant weaponry and explosives were recovered from the encounter site, including BGLs and other firearms. Search operations are ongoing to ensure the area is secure. The Inspector General of Police for Bastar Range highlighted the increasing success rate of operations, with 233 Naxalites neutralized in the Bastar region this year alone. The national goal to eradicate Naxalism remains a primary focus.
