An unusual and unsettling case of suspected superstitious practices has emerged in Kishanganj, Bihar. A man has been arrested for removing the head of his deceased tantric guru from his grave. The man was caught by villagers while carrying the severed head, allegedly intending to use it for tantric rituals. The event has caused alarm and concern in the local community. The incident occurred in the Madua Toli area, under the Mahin village panchayat of Kishanganj town police station. Sri Prasad, the suspect, was a disciple of the tantric practitioner Brijen Rai, also known as Algoo Baba. Algoo Baba had died 15 days previously in Lahil, West Bengal, and was buried there. After learning of his guru’s death, Sri Prasad traveled to West Bengal, exhumed the body, and separated the head using a sharp instrument. He then brought the head to Kishanganj. The following morning, villagers discovered the desecrated grave and, shortly after, encountered Sri Prasad carrying the head in a bag, approximately 7 kilometers from the gravesite. Locals questioned him, and news of the incident spread rapidly. A large crowd gathered at the scene, and the man was apprehended. A local source mentioned that Sri Prasad was also a practitioner of tantra and believed his guru possessed vast knowledge, which he aimed to obtain by obtaining the skull. The police have recovered the severed head, which the accused had concealed. The police are actively investigating the case and have handed the accused over to the authorities in West Bengal. The incident has left villagers feeling deeply disturbed.
