The Supreme Court has granted bail to former Prime Minister Imran Khan in a total of eight cases. The court determined on August 21st that bail was appropriate given the existing legal proceedings and the lack of any basis to continue his detention. The bail granted pertains to the May 9th incidents, in which supporters of Imran Khan protested against the Pakistani army in numerous areas. These protests inflicted significant damage, marking an unprecedented level of dissent against the military within Pakistan.
