    India’s quick and effective response in rescuing the crew of the MV Wan Hai 503, which caught fire after an explosion off the coast of Kerala, has been praised by China. The Chinese Embassy in India, through a statement on X from spokesperson Yu Jing, conveyed its appreciation to the Indian Navy and Mumbai Coast Guard. The incident occurred 44 nautical miles off Azhikkal, Kerala, and involved a crew of 22, including 14 Chinese nationals. The ship was traveling from Colombo to Nhava Sheva when the explosion occurred. Four crew members are missing, and five are injured. The Indian Coast Guard has dispatched ships and aircraft to assist in firefighting and rescue operations. The vessel is carrying containerized cargo, and is listing with some containers overboard. The Coast Guard continues to monitor the situation and provide updates.
