  • PCC brass blames BJP govt for institutional and constitutional collapse in Manipur

New Delhi: Renewed violence has led to “an institutional and constitutional collapse” in Manipur, said state Congress leaders, who blamed the Modi government for the situation. Congress spokesperson Supriya Shrinate, meanwhile, demanded the sacking of Union home minister Amit Shah over continuing violence in the northeastern state.

Addressing an AICC briefing here, Manipur Congress chief Keisham Meghchandra Singh said the unrest intensified since September 1, with aggressors using sophisticated weapons to carry out attacks.

“The use of highly sophisticated weapons, drones and RPGs and bombings in various places have resulted in civilian deaths, while many others have been hospitalized… PM remains unconcerned about Manipur,” Singh said.Congress MP from Inner Manipur A Bimol Akoijam said the state was witnessing a situation which was unprecedented in independent India.

  • ‘Fake Encounter Killings…’: Akhilesh Yadav Blasts Yogi Government Over ‘PDA’ Injustice |

Lucknow: Samajwadi Party president Akhilesh Yadav on Tuesday slammed the Uttar Pradesh government, saying statistics of encounters during the BJP rule are also statistics of the “injustice of illegal killings” and “injustice done against the PDA”.

The former chief minister also shared some data of “fake encounter killings”, claiming that 60 per cent of those killed in gunfights with the police belonged to the PDA — a combine of ‘Pichde, Dalit and Alpsankhyak’ communities (backwards, Dalits and minorities). However, the data had no source mentioned.

Yadav coined the PDA ahead of the 2024 Lok Sabha polls.

“The statistics of encounters during the BJP rule are also statistics of the injustice of illegal killings and also of the injustice done against the PDA,” Yadav posted on X on Tuesday evening in Hindi.

While the SP chief has been critical of the state’s “trigger happy” police in the past also, his latest attack stems from the recent killing of Mangesh Yadav, a suspect in the Rs 1.5 crore robbery at a jewelery store in Sultanpur, who died allegedly. after a gunfight with the police.

In another post Tuesday night, Yadav shared a bar chart on statistics of accused killed in “fake encounters”.

The data showed that 125 (60 per cent) of those killed belonged to the PDA, 40 (19 per cent) to ‘others’ while data was unavailable for another 42 (21 per cent). The chart, however, mentioned no source of information.

The Kannauj Lok Sabha MP had previously also termed Mangesh Yadav’s encounter as “fake” and alleged that it was done based on the basis of the accused’s caste.

However, on Monday, UP Director General of Police (DGP) Prashant Kumar denied the allegations, saying no partiality is practiced by the state police.

“Police do not do such things… When bullets are fired on police, those who have faced such situations, who are our former officers, all of them know about it… I deny all such things and the police take action completely. impartially,” he told reporters in Lucknow.

  • It’s like treason to hurt nation’s image abroad: BJP on Rahul Gandhi’s statement in US

New Delhi: The BJP on Monday strongly reacted to Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s statement regarding the BJP and RSS in the US and said the leader of the Opposition was trying to harm the country’s image abroad.

“Rahul Gandhi is the leader of the Opposition. The LoP is also answerable for the country. Harming the image of the country abroad is a treasonlike crime. No patriot can do this,” Union agriculture and rural development minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan told. media persons in Delhi. Responding to Gandhi’s criticism of the RSS, Chouhan said that every Swayam Sewak of the RSS has dedicated their life to the country and is working for the nation. Union textile minister Giriraj Singh said Rahul Gandhi was praising China while being abroad. “Instead of praising India, he (Rahul Gandhi) is going abroad and abusing India and praising China. It seems like he is thriving on China’s money and they are going abroad and branding China,” Singh said.

Union Minister Kiren Rijiju said. “Gandhi and his ‘ecosystem’ want to talk against India and abuse the BJP, RSS and all nationalist organizations.”

  • Haryana assembly elections: BJP struggling to placate disgruntled state leaders

Top BJP leaders, including Haryana CM Nayab Saini and former chief minister Manohar Lal Khattar, have reached out to party rebels in Haryana, with limited success as they are adamant on contesting the assembly polls.

Already faced with the uphill task of retaining power in Haryana, the BJP’s first list of 67 candidates added to its woes as more than a dozen leaders turned rebels while former minister Ranjit Singh Chautala and Ratia MLA Lakshman Das Napa resigned from the party.

BJP’s farmer wing chief Sukhwinder Sheoran and its OBC chief Karan Dev Kamboj also quit the party as they were denied tickets. Kamboj was eyeing a ticket from Indri. After his resignation, Saini reached out to him but Kamboj made his anger visible to Saini by not even shaking hands with him. On Sunday, Khattar met several disgruntled party leaders in Haryana. The BJP state leaders’ attempts to reach out to these rebels are not yielding much result as Kamboj has met Congress leader Bhupender Singh Hooda in Delhi.Similarly, sports minister and MLA from Sohna, Sanjay Singh, also indicated that he would contest elections as BJP. denied him a ticket. Famed singer Kanhaiya Mittal has also distanced himself from BJP as the party didn’t consider his request for a ticket. He is now eyeing to join the Congress. Saini and several top leaders of the BJP are reaching out to disgruntled leaders to calm them and keep them in the party fold.

To balance the caste equation with more emphasis on OBCs, the BJP on Wednesday had announced 67 candidates. The list incudes 16 OBCs, 13 Jats, 13 SCs, 9 Brahmins, 8 Punjabis, 5 Baniyas, two Rajputs and a Sikh. Besides trying to balance the caste equations, the party has also made space for turncoats, which has not gone well with the party workers. The party has also tried to keep some of the prominent faces, who have switched to the BJP in the last decade or so like Rao Inderjit Singh and Kuldeep Bishnoi in good humor by taking them in the loop while deciding the tickets in their areas of influence. .

Haryana power minister Ranjit Chautala convened a meeting of his supporters at Rania before announcing his decision. He had contested from Hisar Lok Sabha on a BJP ticket but lost. He was replaced with Shishpal Kamboj. BJP leader Shamsher Singh Kharkhara, contested from Meham in 2019, but lost and quit the party after he was denied the ticket. The BJP has fielded former Indian kabaddi team captain Deepak Hooda from Meham. Former MLA Bachan Singh Arya has also resigned from the BJP after JJP rebel Ram Kumar Gautam fielded from Safidon in Jind. Gautam was sitting MLA from Narnaund.

Former Haryana minister Kavita Jain burst into tears after the party replaced her with Nikhil Madan from Sonepat. Madan recently switched to the BJP.

Similarly, supporters of former minister Savitri Jindal, mother of Kurukshetra BJP MP Naveen Jindal, urged her to contest as an Independent from Hisar. The BJP has fielded its sitting MLA Kamal Gupta from here.

  • West Bengal Politics Heat Up Over Sircar’s Letter To Mamata; BJP Says, ‘Dictatorial Attitude’

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Sunday launched a scathing attack on the Trinamool Congress (TMC), alleging that a letter from TMC MP Jawhar Sircar to West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee exposed that “TMC means Too Much Corruption.”

BJP national spokesperson Shehzad Poonawalla posted a video on microblogging site

“The letter by Jawhar Sircar, TMC MP, exposes dirt, corruption and dictatorial attitude within the TMC. TMC means ‘too much corruption,” he said in a shared video.

The letter of Jawahar Sircar after statements of Sukhendu Shekhar & Shantanu Sen reflects following

    1) TMC means Too Much Corruption Every institution has been corroded with corruption by Mamta Govt

Speaking up on corruption gets you into trouble!

    2) Mamata Govt priority… pic.twitter.com/vo1hoSbU0P

    — Shehzad Jai Hind (Modi’s family) (@Shehzad_Ind) September 8, 2024

Reacting to the Kolkata doctor rape-murder case, he writes in a post that the Mamata government’s priority was not “Nyay for Beti”.

“Mamata Govt priority in RG Kar case was not Nyay for Beti. It was an institutional cover up. There is total no confidence against her as the movement is a people’s movement yet TMC leaders abused the protesters and threatened them,” the post read.

BJP national spokesperson raised three questions in the post and also asked why Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka are still silent and they are not visiting the victim’s parent.

Meanwhile, TMC leader Kunal Ghosh said that this is Sircar’s personal choice and decision and he has every right to take such a step.

“We have learned that Jawhar Sircar has made his decision. He was one of the finest bureaucrats in the country and a standout from West Bengal. This is his personal choice, decision, and letter, and he has every right to take such a step. We simply want to express that we, too, agree with the essence of his letter and the questions it raises.” Ghosh told reporters in Kolkata.

  • BJP: Third Eye: Wrong numbers, apologies, and smog concerns amid election season

When A Mobile Number Becomes A Trouble NumberBJP is urging people to give a missed call on a mobile number provided by the party to either become a member or renew their membership. However, during training programs some party workers jumbled up the digits in the number, giving trouble to a few ordinary citizens. A party worker from Begusarai in Bihar ended up dialing a Gurgaon woman. Within a day, she received 10,000 calls asking her to register as a BJP member. The party says the error has been rectified. Similarly, a personal assistant of a former Congress leader with a similar mobile number is also receiving calls for BJP membership. Sidda All Praise for BJP LeaderChief minister Siddaramaiah is all praise for BJP’s deputy leader of Opposition Aravind Bellad, an outandout government critic. Bellad, while attacking the CM recently, made a reference to his father. It could have gone unnoticed. But, Bellad realized his mistake and wrote a letter of apology to the chief minister. The gesture has been widely appreciated.Election & Smog… A Coincidence Haryana’s election calendar may coincide with DelhiNCR’s annual smog season. The state goes to polls on October 4 and results will be declared on October 8. It is also harvest time, with farm fires picking up pace by midOctober. With model code of conduct already in force, the worry is whether there will be enough enforcement — both before and after elections.

  • J&K Polls: BJP’s Bold Move Of Fielding Candidate From Lal Chowk Marks A New Era In Kashmir |

The BJP’s decision to field a candidate from Lal Chowk itself is a testament to the significant changes occurring in Kashmir, says Engineer Ejaz Hussain. A festive atmosphere was observed at the BJP headquarters in Srinagar following the announcement of BJP candidates from historically significant constituencies like Lal Chowk and Eidgah. In the first two phases of the Jammu and Kashmir assembly elections, the BJP has fielded 13 candidates—eight from South Kashmir and five from Central Kashmir.

Among these, the key constituencies are Lal Chowk and Eidgah. Lal Chowk holds historical significance as it has been the center of major decisions in Kashmir. Once considered the heart of Kashmir, Lal Chowk witnessed election boycotts and stone-pelting over the last three decades. However, following the abrogation of Article 370, Lal Chowk was revitalized and transformed into a tourist hub, with the tricolor being hoisted on its historic clock tower.

Years ago, Prime Minister Narendra Modi hoisted the tricolor at this very place when terrorism was at its peak in Kashmir. Today, the BJP has fielded a candidate with the hope that, along with the tricolor, the BJP flag will also fly high from Lal Chowk.

BJP candidate Engineer Aijaz Hussain, who was previously elected DDC from Lal Chowk, stated, “I have worked a lot for the people of this constituency. We promise only what we can deliver. An MLA cannot bring back Article 370, which the NC and PDP is falsely promising to the people. If a Muslim is elected in BJP, he will speak for the community.” Engineer Hussain expressed his confidence that “this time, the lotus will bloom from Lal Chowk.”

Eidgah is another significant constituency where the BJP has fielded a candidate. This area, located in the historic downtown of Srinagar, was once synonymous with strikes, stone-pelting, and protests before the removal of Article 370. In the past, downtown Srinagar was a center of separatism and election boycotts, with minimal voter turnout. However, the situation has changed. The Lok Sabha elections saw a significant voter turnout in the area, and the assembly elections are expected to witness record-breaking participation. The BJP has fielded Arif Raja from Eidgah, one of the most crucial constituencies in downtown Srinagar.

Arif Raja stated, “I have worked tirelessly for the youth of the area, and that is why the picture in Eidgah is different today. My slogan is ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vishwas, Sabka Vikas,’ and I am confident that the lotus will bloom in Eidgah for the first time.” When asked about his competition, he added, “I don’t see any real competition in the area. The youth are with me, they are wise, and they will choose the better candidate.”

The BJP may field additional candidates in the third phase for North Kashmir. However, the party will not contest elections in all constituencies in Kashmir. Instead, they are hopeful that this time the lotus will bloom in Kashmir. The BJP is also in the process of supporting many independent candidates, most of whom are contesting independently after not receiving a mandate from the NC or PDP and have a strong influence in their respective areas. The BJP, which is primarily focusing on Jammu province, is optimistic that with the support of some independent candidates in the valley, it will be able to form a government for the first time in Jammu and Kashmir.

  • Three Ex-JJP leaders Join BJP Ahead Of Haryana Assembly Elections

Former Jannayak Janata Party (JJP) leaders Anoop Dhanak, Ram Kumar Gautam, and Jogi Ram Sihag joined the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the presence of Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini on Sunday ahead of the October 5 Haryana assembly polls.

Earlier today, Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Saini attended a Jan Ashirwad rally held at Jind. During the rally, he highlighted the various schemes and decisions taken by the Haryana government for the welfare of the people. “Our government has decided to provide tubewell connections to all farmers, so all who have applied for a connection till 2023 will be getting their tubewell connections released,” said the Chief Minister.

During the speech, he also mentioned that the state government has decided to increase the annual income limit for the OBC creamy layer in the state from Rs 6 lakhs to Rs 8 lakhs. “On June 29, our government decided to increase the income limit for the people in the OBC creamy layer from Rs 6 lakhs to Rs 8 lakhs. The decisions have been made to keep it apart from the salary and agricultural income too,” added the Chief Minister.

The CM mentioned the decision to provide pension benefits for more than 75000 people in the state, and the decision to increase the salaries of various government employees by 8 per cent who have been serving the government for more than five years.

The Chief Minister said that the government had also helped with the development of villages across the villages after consultations with various village heads.

“From July 2, sarpanches of various villages complained that they couldn’t carry out developmental work with just Rs 5 lakhs, so we had been in constant contact with them, so we called every sarpanch for a meeting and gave them the power to spend Rs 21 lakhs for development,” he said.

He mentioned the steps taken for animal welfare, highlighting an MoU signed with the Medanta. “On July 11, we signed an MoU of Rs 100 crore with the Medanta group to build an animal hospital in Gurugram,” he said.

Other schemes which the Chief Minister highlighted were the plans to make around 4000 schools in the state, to increase the salaries and benefits of safai karamcharis, and also giving 10 per cent job reservations to agniveers.

Notably, the Election Commission of India (ECI) on Saturday, August 31, revised the polling day for 90 member Haryana assembly from October 1 to October 5, this year, as well as moved the counting of votes for both Jammu and Kashmir and Haryana. assemblies from October 4 to October 8.

  • Third Eye: Left wondering, on lighter note and coconut weapon

Left wonderingIn a move that has left the Naval community confused, former Navy chief Admiral Hari Kumar has quit as chairman of National Maritime Foundation. Traditionally, the most recently retired Navy chief functions as chairman of the foundation. While he took charge just a few months ago, those still part of the foundation are wondering what triggered Admiral Kumar’s move.On lighter noteThe collapse of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj’s statue in Sindhudurg has caused a political storm in Maharashtra. But there was a lighter side to the issue too. Asked if this is a bad omen for BJP ahead of assembly polls, a senior BJP leader said Sharad Pawar does not believe in such superstitions, so collapse will not be viewed as a positive or negative sign by him and his followers. This logic could be debatable as Pawar, Sena (UBT) and Congress have aggressively cornered BJP on the incident. Coconut weaponUsually, politicians invite film personalities and other celebrities to watch trained ‘Govindas’ form pyramids to break Dahi Handis. However, BJP’s Kirit Somaiya thought otherwise and decided to be a star himself. Somaiya, 70, was part of a 2.5 tier pyramid that was formed to ensure his balance with four people holding him. Not content with this, Somaiya then attempted to break the pot with his bare hands. After trying twice, he gave up and used a coconut to break the pot.

  • Champai Soren Meets Amit Shah, To Join BJP On August 30, Confirms Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma.

In a significant political development, Champai Soren, a prominent Adivasi leader and former Chief Minister of Jharkhand, is set to join the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on August 30. This news was confirmed by Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, who took to social media to announce Soren’s upcoming induction into the party. The assembly elections for 81 Assembly seats is likely to be held in October-November this year.

“Former Chief Minister of Jharkhand and a distinguished Adivasi leader of our country, Champai Soren Ji met Hon’ble Union Home Minister Amit Shah Ji a short while ago. He will officially join the BJP on 30th August in Ranchi,” tweeted Sarma.

The decision by Soren to join the BJP comes at a time when the party is actively strengthening its base in Jharkhand, a state with a significant tribal population. His inclusion in the BJP is seen as a strategic move, likely to bolster the party’s influence among the tribal communities ahead of the upcoming elections.

Former Chief Minister of Jharkhand and a distinguished Adivasi leader of our country, @ChampaiSoren Ji met Hon’ble Union Home Minister @AmitShah Ji a short while ago. He will officially join the @BJP4India on 30th August in Ranchi. pic.twitter.com/OOAhpgrvmu — Himanta Biswa Sarma (@himantabiswa) August 26, 2024

The development comes in a u-turn for Soren, who last week announced to float a new party. However, the BJP leaders and Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma were keen on inducting the tribal leader into the saffron fold. Champai Soren was upset with the JMM after Hemant Soren removed to take back the Chief Minister’s chair after getting bail in the alleged land scam case. Hemant made Champai the Chief Minister of Jharkhand in January this year after getting arrested in the case. However, last month, he took the reign of the state in his hand once again after getting a bail in the case.

Since then, Champai Soren was sulking as he felt insulted and later he resigned from the party.

Champai Soren has been a prominent figure in Jharkhand politics, known for his strong advocacy of Adivasi rights and development. His move to join the BJP is expected to create ripples in the state’s political landscape, particularly within the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM), the party he has been associated with for decades.

This development underscores the BJP’s ongoing efforts to expand its footprint in tribal-dominated regions, which have traditionally been strongholds of regional parties like the JMM. The formal induction ceremony is scheduled to take place in Ranchi on August 30, and it is anticipated that several senior BJP leaders will be present to welcome Soren into the party.

The move could potentially reshape the political dynamics in Jharkhand, with the BJP aiming to consolidate its position in the state by bringing in influential leaders like Champai Soren.
