    New Delhi: As Raksha Bandhan is just one day away, Zomato-owned Blinkit has rolled out a new international orders feature for its users on the auspicious occasion of Raksha Bandhan 2024. The new international orders feature allows users in select countries to send gifts and Rakhis to their siblings in India for a limited time.

    Until August 19, customers living in the USA, Germany, Netherlands, Japan, France, and Canada can place orders on Blinkit to send Rakhis, traditional sweets, snacks, and other festive items to their siblings living in India. The Zomato-owned online grocery service will deliver these items in just 10 minutes.

    However, there is no official clarification on whether Blinkit will charge onboard customers extra or if the platform will deliver the goods normally. Earlier this month, Blinkit introduced another feature that lets you get passport-sized photos delivered to your doorstep in 10 minutes. This service is only available if you live in Delhi or Gurugram.

    There are mixed reactions from users on the internet after Blinkit rolled out the new Raksha Bandhan feature. While some users praised the service for its convenience. Furthermore, some users suggested that the offer could have been launched earlier.

    To get your passport-sized photos just upload a photo or snap a picture with your phone on the Blinkit app. The app will automatically remove the background and crop the image to the right size. You can choose how many photos you need, from 8 to 32. Once processed, your photos will be delivered to you in an envelope.

    How much will it cost?

    To use this service, users will need to pay between Rs 99 and Rs 197. For Rs 99, you’ll get 8 photos. If you need 16 photos, the cost is Rs 148. And if you want 32 photos, it will be Rs 197.

  • Zomato May Buy Paytm’s Movie Ticketing Business: Reports | Company News

    New Delhi: Online food delivery platform Zomato is in advanced discussions to buy Paytm’s movie ticketing and events business, according to multiple reports. This move aligns with Zomato’s plan to expand its ‘going out’ offerings. The potential deal could value Paytm’s vertical at around Rs 1,500 crore, as per reports. Zomato or Paytm were yet to comment on the reports.

    If finalised, this acquisition would be Zomato’s second-largest purchase, following its acquisition of quick commerce platform Blinkit in 2021, which was an all-stock deal worth Rs 4,447 crore. Meanwhile, Zomato has invested Rs 300 crore in its quick commerce arm, Blinkit, as this segment is projected to surpass its core food delivery business.

    The board of the company has approved the investment of Rs 300 crore in Blinkit Commerce, as per filings with the Registrar of Companies accessed via TheKredible. Additionally, Zomato will also invest Rs 100 crore in Zomato Entertainment, its events arm, which specialises in curating and selling tickets for concerts, parties, and festivals.
