    Naiduniya Representative, Bhopal: Due to the trough line passing through the northern region of the state, the weather department has predicted heavy rainfall in Sagar, Rewa and Shahdol on Tuesday. There is a possibility of light drizzle in the remaining divisions of the state. On Monday, heavy rainfall occurred in eight districts of Indore and Ujjain divisions.

    According to the Meteorological Department, eight districts including Alirajpur, Jhabua and Dhar will receive light rainfall in the next 24 hours. Light rain and thundershowers will continue in Barwani, Indore, Ratlam, Ujjain, Dewas, Mandsaur, Bhind, Morena, Singrauli, Mauganj, Sidhi, Panna and Chhatarpur.

    Meteorologist Ajay Shukla said that there is a deep depression in eastern Rajasthan. Its effect will be seen in the west and south-west direction up to Gujarat, Pakistan and Kutch. At the same time, there is a very low pressure area in Bengal. On August 29, a low pressure system will become active in the Bay of Bengal. This may cause light rainfall in entire Madhya Pradesh.

    Three gates of Bansagar dam were opened

    Due to heavy rains in Shahdol district for the last five days, Bansagar dam was filled to the brim, due to which first two gates of the dam were opened at 1 pm on Monday, after which one more gate was opened. On Monday, 341 meters of water was recorded in the dam at 8 am.

    After this, at 1 pm, the water level was recorded up to 341.06 meters. After this, it was decided to release the water of the dam, after which at 1 pm, first two gates were opened and after some time another gate was opened by 1.5 meters. The water level of the dam is 341.64 meters.

The weather department has predicted moderate to heavy showers at some places in eastern Madhya Pradesh during the next 24 hours. Between Sunday and Monday, the highest rainfall of 101 mm was recorded in Shivpuri. Apart from this, moderate rain occurred in other parts.

    Former senior scientist of the Meteorological Department, Ajay Shukla, said that currently the monsoon trough is going to the Bay of Bengal via Bikaner, Sikar, Sidhi, Ranchi, Digha. Apart from the monsoon trough passing through the state, a circle of cyclonic winds is formed in north-west Madhya Pradesh. Apart from this, a trough is coming from the north-eastern Arabian Sea to the system located in north-west Madhya Pradesh.

    The second trough is formed from northwest Madhya Pradesh to Bangladesh, which is in the upper part of the air. Due to its effect, moderate rain may be received at some places in Gwalior, Chambal and eastern parts of the state. In other parts, drizzling rain will continue amid cloud cover.

    During the last 24 hours from 8.30 am on Sunday to Monday morning, apart from heavy rain in Shivpuri, Narmadapuram received 52.7 mm of moderate rain, 31 mm in Mandla, 27 mm in Khandwa, 16 mm in Satna, 15.4 mm in Sidhi and 14 mm in Umaria. Sporadic rain continued during the day on Monday as well and till 5.30 pm, 17 mm of rain was recorded in Guna, 16 mm in Bhopal and 6 mm each in Mandla and Damoh.
