  • 3 BJP MPs demand FIR against Trinamool MP for JPC violence

New Delhi: Three BJP MPs have written to Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla demanding filing of an FIR against Trinamool MP Kalyan Banerjee and his immediate suspension from the House, a day after Banerjee was suspended for a day from the parliamentary panel on Waqf (Amendment). Bill.

Describing his conduct in the meeting of the Joint Parliamentary Committee on Waqf (Amendment) Bill on Tuesday as “unprecedented violence”, the BJP members, in the letter, have sought an investigation into the matter by the Lok Sabha Ethics Committee to consider resigning Banerjee’s membership from the Lower House. The letter was signed by Nishikant Dubey, Aparajita Sarangi and Abhijit Gadopadhyay.

Amid a heated exchange of words with Gangopadhyay during the meeting on Tuesday, Banerjee smashed a glass bottle and allegedly threw it towards the panel chairperson Jagdambika Pal. In their letter to the Speaker, the BJP members said they along with other members of the panel witnessed the “act of goondaism and unpardonable violence” by Banerjee during the sitting of the parliamentary committee.

Meanwhile on Wednesday, A Raja, DMK MP and a member of the JPC on the Waqf (Amendment) Bill, accused Pal of violating norms by speaking to the media about the incident of an Opposition member smashing a glass bottle and allegedly throwing it towards him. .

Bengaluru: The Karnataka High Court on Monday adjourned JDS MLA HD Revanna’s plea on quashing the first information report (FIR) filed against him in a case of alleged abduction of a sexual assault survivor from her home in Mysuru district.

The high court will hear the case on Friday.

The Karnataka High Court on Friday had raised concerns over the court’s decision to grant him bail, and had issued him an urgent notice, seeking his response to the SIT’s bail cancellation petition. Revanna’s son Prajwal, embroiled in the state’s infamous sex video case, is currently in SIT custody. The JDS MP, who is seeking reelection from Hassan as NDA candidate, had fled the country after pen drives containing sex videos allegedly involving him were distributed in his constituency days before the polling in the general election. • Delhi Minister Atishi criticizes crime branch’s “interesting” notice, says it is “neither an FIR nor summons”

Delhi minister and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Atishi expressed skepticism regarding the nature of the notice served by the crime branch in connection with the poaching claim case on Sunday, highlighting that it lacked clarity.Atishi stated, “This morning around six officials from the Crime Branch came to my house, waited for 23 hours, and repeatedly went in and out. They had come to give a crime branch notice and wanted to hand it to me directly.””This notice is very interesting. It is neither an FIR nor summons. It does not have sections of IPC, CrPC, PMLA, or the Prevention of Corruption Act,” Atishi added. She mocked that the Delhi Police gave her and Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal a “letter”.

The minister further reiterated her ‘MLA poaching’ remark and claimed that Maharashtra CM Eknath Shinde and 11 other MLAs are the ‘same people’ who break away AAP MLAs.”The people who came to take break Eknath Shinde and 11 other MLAs are the same people who came to break away AAP MLAs,” Atishi said.”I want to tell the heads of the Crime Branch that you already know the people who have been trying to break the Opposition governments (in states) for the past 78 years These are the same people contacting AAP MLAs,” Atishi asserted.

Earlier in the day, a Crime Branch team arrived at the door of AAP leader Atishi to serve a notice in connection with her claim that the BJP was trying to prize away the party’s MLAs through cash inducements and topple the government as part of ‘Operation Lotus. 2.0’.

The Crime Branch served a notice on AAP leader and minister Atishi in the poaching claim case, asking her to respond within three days.
