The rural economic system is being strengthened by the Godhan Nyaya Yojana launched by the Chhattisgarh authorities from 20 July 2020. Under this scheme, vermicompost is being made in Gothan by buying cow dung. 90 thousand 371 quintal cow dung of 1 crore 80 lakh 74 thousand rupees has been offered by 4 thousand 860 farmers in 207 Gothans of Kanker district. 24 farmers of the district have offered cow dung starting from 50 thousand to 1 lakh 37 thousand rupees.
Cow dung can also be being bought within the Gauthans of Koyilibeda growth block of Kanker district. One thousand 452 quintal cow dung of two lakh 90 thousand rupees has been bought from 50 farmers in Gauthan, Harnagarh (Donde) of this growth block alone. In addition, 492 quintal vermi compost was ready by self-help teams of the district. Out of this, 477 quintal vermi compost has been offered for Rs. 4 lakh 71 thousand. The ladies of the group obtained an extra earnings of Rs 62 thousand by promoting diya created from cow dung.
According to info acquired from the Agriculture Department, 4 thousand 600 quintal vermi compost has been ready by the ladies self-help teams from the dung bought, out of which 3 thousand 345 quintal vermi compost has been offered for Rs 32 lakh 35 thousand, which is in Bastar division.
