Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday demanded “strict action against the accused” in the gang rape case of a 19-year-old woman in Uttar Pradesh’s Hathras district. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath also took cognizance of the incident and formed a three-member SIT panel to investigate the crime
The Special Investigation Team will be headed by Home Secretary Bhagwan Swarup and Deputy Inspector General of Police Chandraprakash and IPS officer Poonam.
The remaining 19-year-old man died in Safdarjung Hospital in Delhi on Tuesday. He suffered multiple fractures, paralysis in a brutal attack on September 14 in the village of Hathras from where he was admitted to the local hospital.
