In the meeting, Chief Minister requested Union Minister to ensure speedy completion of various sanctioned and under-constructed National Highways in Chhattisgarh. Mr. Baghel attracted Union Minister’s attention towards the under-constructed Bilaspur-Patrapali bridge, in response to which Mr. Gadkari announced that the construction work of this bridge would be resumed soon utilizing emergency provision. On the occasion, Mr. Gadkari said that construction works of highways will be examined at national level. Team of officials will visit various construction sites for inspection. Mr. Gadkari assured that the pending construction works will be completed soon. Meanwhile, Mr. Baghel gave organic rice of Chhattisigarh to Union Minister as gift.
    In the meeting, Chief Minister Mr. Baghel requested that completion of of Tatibandh Chowk flyover, Raipur-Dhamtari road widening work, widening of Champa-Korba-Katghora road and Patthalaon-Kunkuri road, as people are facing major inconvenience because of incompletion of these works. Mr. Baghel informed Mr. Gadhkari that NH-53 is situated near Tatibandh Chowk, which is the junction of Raipur-Durg, Raipur-Simga, Tatibandh-Amanaka and Tatibandh-Dhamtari routes. Despite the announcement made by Mr. Gadkari on September 10, 2018, during his Chhattisgarh visit, construction of the flyover has not been started even after a year of announcement. He told that Tatibandh Chowk is one of the busiest squares of the city, and as the junction has not been constructed as per the standard parameter, number of road accidents is increasing. To ensure smooth traffic movement here, construction of flyover should be done as soon as possible. Union Minister Mr. Gadkari assured Mr. Baghel that effective steps will be taken in the direction of ensuring speedy completion of road construction-widening related works as soon as possible.
