  • IND vs BAN 3rd T20I: Sanju Samson Shines In Hyderabad As India Complete Whitewash Bangladesh In T20I Series | cricket news

India pulverized Bangladesh by 133 runs in the third and final T20I to sweep the series 3-0 on Saturday. India recorded the highest-ever T20I total of 297/6 for any full member side to seal the outcome of the game in the first half itself. It was also the second highest total in recognized matches of the shortest format.

In reply, Bangladesh lost wickets regularly. Though they scored at nearly 10 an over in the first half of their run chase, their fight eventually fizzled out. Bangladesh managed 164/7 in their 20 overs with Towhid Hridoy top-scoring with 63 not out.

    Brief Scores:

India: 297/6 in 20 overs (Sanju Samson 111, Suryakumar Yadav 75, Riyan Parag 34, Hardik Pandya 47; Tanzin Hasan Sakib 3/66) beat Bangladesh 164/7 in 20 overs (Litton Das 42, Towhid Hridoy 63 not out) ; Mayank Yadav 2/32, Ravi Bishnoi 3/30) by 133 runs.

  • Will Focus On Safety Rather Than Thinking About Winning: Bangladesh’s Miraz Ahead Of Day 5 Test Vs India | cricket news

Bangladesh spinner Mehidy Hasan Miraz on Monday indicated that his side will not play aggressive cricket like India, and rather adopt a safety-first approach on the fifth and final day of the second Test.

Bangladesh are trailing India by 26 runs and have eight wickets in hand, going into the final day on Tuesday.

India batters went hammer and tongs to polish off Bangladesh’s first innings total and even took a handy 52-run lead.

“Given the current situation, we will prioritize our safety first. We will try to bat as long as possible, which will be good for us and the team,” Miraz said at the post-day media interaction.

“Playing to win requires a lot of time. If we bat and set a target, we then have to take 10 wickets again. For now, it’s essential to focus on our safety rather than just thinking about winning,” he added.

Miraz, who took four wickets in India’s first innings, said they were a bit rattled by the way Rohit Sharma and other batters came out all guns blazing.

“The wicket was a bit slow; the ball was keeping low. At times, there was extra bounce. They came with an aggressive mentality, which made it a bit difficult for us. In ODIs and T20s, there’s a set time frame. We have tried to get them out, and we’ll see what happens tomorrow.”

He lamented that Bangladeshi batters did not support Mominul Haque, who scored an unbeaten century, but was left stranded at one end.

“The first innings is very important in Test cricket. Mominul bhai played really well, but we couldn’t provide him the support he needed from our side.

“If we had been able to support him better, the game might have turned out differently.”

Miraz was hopeful that they would save the game on the final day.

“In Test cricket, anything is possible. We haven’t completely lost yet. We’ve won many matches under similar circumstances before and have done well. There’s still an opportunity for us. The wicket is good.

“It will be challenging, but I believe if we can form a solid partnership and bat responsibly for a session, it will be a positive outcome for us. We still have tomorrow. Let’s not think negatively just yet.”

He admitted that it was a unique experience for him where so much time was lost in a Test and still a decisive result was possible.

“There are many situations in Test cricket. It hasn’t rained for two days before this match. For me, this situation has definitely never happened before. There’s certainly a lot to learn from this match, and we have learned.”

  • India’s Pace Puzzle Against Bangladesh: Ex-India Star Wants THIS Pacer To Replace Jasprit Bumrah or Mohammed Siraj | cricket news

Former India player Parthiv Patel thinks that the Indian team can try Yash Dayal in place of Jasprit Bumrah or Mohammed Siraj for the second Test against Bangladesh in Kanpur which is set to be played from Friday. Just before the Test series started, Indian skipper Rohit Sharma said that the workload management of their pacers will be supervised in between the packed schedule.

Earlier, the Indian team won the first Test match against Bangladesh in Chennai by a huge margin of 280 runs.

“This will be a great chance to see a left-armer. It has been a while since India had a left-arm seamer, so I feel if he gets the chance, it will be good. We will know. Yash Dayal has tremendous potential. So I don’t think there is harm in trying,” Parthiv Patel, who is an expert on JioCinema and Sports18 told ANI.

Parthiv also talked about the two youngsters, Sarfaraz Khan and Dhruv Jurel. He feels that since Rishabh Pant and KL Rahul have returned to the Playing XI, it is difficult for the youngsters to seal their places.

“I don’t think Sarfaraz and Dhruv will make a comeback to the side. Rishabh has just made a comeback. Both of them are very very talented players and very much ready for Test cricket. But they will have to wait for their chances, Parthiv added.

Talking about the Indian team, they have already reached Kanpur to take part in the second Test against Bangladesh, starting from Friday, September 27.
