Baba Mahakal’s royal procession on Somvati Amavasya

Naiduniya Representative, Ujjain: The royal procession of Lord Mahakal will be taken out on Monday, September 2 in the month of Shravan-Bhadon. A meeting was held on Wednesday in the presence of Collector Neeraj Kumar Singh and SP Pradeep Sharma to determine the arrangements for the procession. It was decided to set up 100 welcome platforms to welcome the palanquins of Lord Mahakal in the royal procession. 70 bhajan troupes will participate in the procession.

More than 500 barricades will be installed on the nearly seven kilometer long procession route. A target has also been set to return Lord Mahakal’s palanquin to Mahakaleshwar temple by 10 pm. This time Lord Mahakal’s royal procession is going to be taken out on the occasion of Somvati Amavasya. In such a situation, a flood of faith is expected in the procession.
Thousands of devotees from all over the country will reach Ujjain to see the procession. Discussions were held for the systematic conduct of the procession, for providing devotees with convenient darshan of Lord Mahakal and for crowd control. Bhajan troupes will be given entry from Kot Mohalla from 12 noon to 1 pm.
50 members included in Bhajan Mandal
Bhajan Mandalis arriving after 1 pm will not be allowed entry. 50 members will be able to attend each Bhajan Mandal. Passes will be issued by the temple committee as per the list provided by the Bhajan Mandal operators. Corporation Commissioner Ashish Pathak, UDA CEO Sandeep Kumar Soni, Additional SP Nitesh Bhargava and other officials were present in the meeting.
