Naiduniya representative, Mandsaur. On Saturday evening, a girl from village Bhooki came running on the road going from the district court premises towards the Shivna river and jumped into the river. Two young men watching from nearby also immediately jumped into the river and pulled the girl out.
For a long time the girl did not say anything. Later when people reached there and asked her, she said that the person she wanted to marry had refused her family and had arranged her marriage somewhere else. Angered by this, she had come to commit suicide by jumping into the Shivna. Later people also informed the police.
According to the information received, on Saturday evening around 4 o’clock, a girl came running from the Kastkar restaurant and jumped straight into the Shivna river. Due to the rain, the water level in the river is also quite high. Rehan Qureshi and Ashfaq, both youths who were watching from a house nearby, also came running and jumped into the river and took the girl out. The girl’s condition was fine as she was taken out quickly.
At first the girl did not say anything. The young men who rescued her and other people present there told that the girl’s family had refused to marry the boy she wanted to marry and the boy’s marriage had been fixed elsewhere. Angered by this, the girl jumped into the Shivna river.
