  • Xiaomi Mi 11 to come with 55W fast charging

The Xiaomi M2011K2C, expected to arrive as the Xiaomi Mi 11, has just been certified by 3C. The phone will come with the MDY-12-EQ charger that supports speeds of up to 55W, hinting of the charging rates of the upcoming smartphone.

There’s not much we know about the Mi 11, although with rumors indicating it’s coming out before the end of the year that’s bound to change. We got confirmation it will be the first with Snapdragon 888, alongside its Mi 11 Pro sibling. Another pointed to a 120Hz QHD+ panel for the Pro, but there’s no info whether the vanilla will have the same display.

We’re also reasonably confident of the battery capacity in the Mi 11 – it was certified at 3C as 2,485 mAh for each of its two cells, meaning the new phone will hold a 4,780 mAh charge.

  • POCO M3 and its huge 6,000 mAh battery are now official

As earlier leaked, Xiaomi sub-brand POCO just revealed the POCO M3 to the world. And, just as those same leaks claimed, it is a giant among its peers in its price range. Although most of the specs won’t be anything worth writing home about, it will be the battery that will carry the POCO M3’s name in the market, with a ginormous battery and price tag that will put most mid-tier smartphones to shame.

POCO itself really didn’t do much to hide the phone’s core specs even before it launched. The company already teased the phone’s Qualcomm Snapdragon 662 processor, 6.53-inch FHD+ screen, and, of course, its large 6,000 mAh battery. Unfortunately, that battery charges over 18W only, meaning it would be a long wait for it to get topped up to full.

Leaks pretty much filled in the blanks that are now finally confirmed. The large camera bumper, not just a bump, houses only three sensors. That includes a 48MP f/1.79 main camera, a 2MP f/2.4 macro camera, and a 2MP f/2.4 depth sensor. Given it has no ultra-wide camera nor a telephoto one, buyers shouldn’t expect award-winning photos from these.

The phone will at least be a head-turner, for better or worse. Coming in Cool Blue, Power Black, and (probably Banana) Yellow, the POCO M3’s rear design will definitely catch eyes. All it needs is a custom skin and it could be a dead knocker for the OnePlus 8T Cyberpunk 2077 Edition.

  • Best Android Phones under $300: Motorola, Samsung, Nokia, TCL, & more

Smartphone prices have been escalating out of control for a few years now, and the recent move towards more affordable flagship-level phones (or really, really great mid-rangers, depending on your view) from Samsung (Galaxy S20 FE), Google (Pixel 5), and Apple (iPhone 12 Mini) is likely good news to most consumers. But, to some, getting the best flagship smartphone is often out of the budget, and they are likely to settle for a cheaper phone instead.

Thankfully, phone brands have gotten really good at making phones, to the point that you can get something very capable at a stricter budget of $300 or less. Of course, you’re not going to have all the bells and whistles of a pricier device, but these devices are enough for your daily use.

Motorola is responsible for some of the best entry-level phones in the US and its Moto G Power is a great option for those who don’t want to spend more than $300. You get a 6.4-inch display, a solid 16MP camera, Snapdragon 665, a near-stock version of Android, plus a 5,000 mAh battery.

You’re missing NFC, the 8MP ultra-wide camera is just okay, and the 4GB of RAM is a bit low, but thankfully the software is lean and clean, so the phone remains super fast. If you’re a heavy user and battery endurance is of high importance, then this is your phone.
