    India has reported 21,821 new COVID-19 instances within the final 24 hours, taking the overall variety of instances to 1,02,66,674, based on the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW).

    As many as 26,139 recoveries and 299 deaths have been recorded within the final 24 hours, as per the Union Health Ministry.
    The tally of lively instances stands at 2,57,656 whereas the overall recoveries have reached 98,60,280.

    A complete of 1,48,738 folks have succumbed to coronavirus within the nation, based on MoHFW.

    Kerala has reported 65,572 lively COVID-19 instances whereas Maharashtra has reported 54,206 lively instances.

    Delhi has reported 5,838 lively instances, 6,08,434 recoveries and 10,523 fatalities.

    In a significant improvement, terming the approval for Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccine to be used within the UK as a “big step forward”, AIIMS Delhi Director Dr Randeep Guleria on Wednesday stated that India could have the COVID-19 vaccine inside days.

    Meanwhile, a complete of 17,20,49,274 samples have been examined for COVID-19 as much as December 30. Of these, 11,27,244 samples had been examined yesterday, based on the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR).

  • Vaccine to arrive soon, COVID-19 will have to go ultimately: Ramdas Athawale

    Minister Ramdas Athawale on Monday said a COVID-19 vaccine will be available in the country within a month or two and that COVID-19 will have to go ultimately.

    “COVID19 vaccine will be available in a month or two. I gave the slogan ‘corona go’ on 20th February and now the cases are subsiding. It will remain for 6-7 months, ultimately it will have to go away,” said Athawale.

    Ramdas Athawale had earlier this year coined the slogan “Go Corona, Go”.

    Meanwhile, with 24,337 new COVID-19 cases, India’s COVID-19 count has reached 1,00,55,560 cases, said the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MOHFW) on Monday.

    With 24,337 new COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours, India’s COVID-19 count has reached 1,00,55,560 cases, said the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MOHFW) on Monday.

    According to the Union Health Ministry, there are 3,03,639 active cases in the country and so far 1,45,810 people have died. Besides, as many as 96,06,111 cases have been cured/discharged/migrated.

    The Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) said 16,20,98,329 samples tested for COVID-19 up to December 20. Of these, 9,00,134 samples were tested on Sunday.

    The Union Health Ministry on Monday said that India has one of the lowest deaths per million population globally.

    “India has one of the lowest deaths/million population globally (105.4). Focussed measures including targeted testing, early identification, timely isolation and prompt hospitalization and Standard Treatment Protocol have ensured that daily fatalities are under 400,” Health Ministry tweeted.

    Union Health Minister Dr Harsh Vardhan has said that the worst is over concerning coronavirus in the country but people still need to follow covid appropriate behaviour to stay safe.

    At a personal level, I think that the worst is over concerning the Covid-19 situation. I have been following this situation right from the time when we had our first case on January 30, 2020. Since then, I have watched everything from the closest of quarters with meticulous precision. If we look at the things in the last three-four months then things are in a declining phase,” Dr Vardhan told ANI in an exclusive interview.

  • India’s total cases rise to 99,32,548 with 26,382 new infections in 24 hrs

    With 26,382 new Covid-19 infections and 387 new deaths in the last 24 hours, the total cases in India reached 99,32,548, according to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW) on Wednesday.

    With 387 new deaths reported in the last 24 hours, the toll mounted to 1,44,096.

    The total active cases in the country are at 3,32,002. With 33,813 new discharges in the last 24 hours, total discharged cases reached 94,56,449. Maharashtra continues to be the worst affected state by the pandemic with 72,458 active cases, followed by Kerala with 57,909 active cases.

    The Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) on Wednesday said that a total of 15,66,46,280 samples tested for the novel coronavirus up to December 15. Of these, 10,85,625 samples were tested on Tuesday.

  • With 36,652 fresh Covid-19 cases, India’s total tally breaches 96-lakh mark

    India’s coronavirus tally breached the 96-lakh mark after 36,652 new infections reported in the last 24 hours, according to the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare’s data on Saturday.

    The overall coronavirus cases reached 96,08,211 including 4,09,689 active cases and 90,58,822 recoveries. With 512 new deaths, the cumulative toll mounted to 1,39,700.

    According to the ministry, calibrated and effective strategy of the Centre focused on high levels of testing, combined with early identification, timely tracing, isolation, and hospitalisation for the severe cases, have resulted in a manageable number of active cases and continuously rising number of recoveries. “India’s active cases have fallen below 4.2 lakhs, while the recovered cases have leapt past 90 lakhs,” the MoHFW said on Saturday.

    India’s active caseload was 4.35 per cent of the total number of cases as on Friday. The last time the daily new cases crossed the 50,000-threshold was on November 7.

    Meanwhile, the total number of tests for the COVID-19 conducted in the country reached 14,58,85,512, of which, 11,57,763 were conducted on Friday, according to the Indian Council of Medical Research.

    44,878 new COVID-19 infections reported in the last 24 hours, India’s total cases surged to 87,28,795, the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW) said on Friday.

    With 547 new deaths reported in the last 24 hours, the toll has mounted to 1,28,688.

    The total number of active cases in the country stands at 4,84,547 after a decrease of 4,747 in the last 24 hours. Total cured cases are 81,15,580 with 49,079 new discharges in the last 24 hours.

    According to the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), a total of 12,31,01,739 samples have been tested for COVID-19 up to 12th November, of these 11,39,230 samples were tested yesterday.

    Union Health Minister Dr Harsh Vardhan on Wednesday said that India’s COVID-19 response approach has been pre-emptive, proactive and graded, keeping in mind the large population of the country.
